Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American producer, actress and director. Her starring role on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most well-known. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. Following the conclusion of the seventh season the show was cancelled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick's role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick received nominations for a Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick, a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian and of English origin. Sedgwick has identified herself as Jewish and has said that she participates in Passover seders.
